The Process

Consultation

We’ll start with a free one-hour phone (or virtual) consultation to go over the story you would like to write. We’ll consider the structure of the story (chronological or thematic), the key areas you’d like to focus on (i.e. holidays and vacations, favorite recipes, children and grandchildren) and the people who should be interviewed for this project. Based on the type of story you would like to write, we will estimate how long it will take to complete the interviews

Estimate

We will come up with a quote based on the amount of material you would like to include in the book, estimated page count, and number of interviews.

Proposal

Next, we’ll draw up a contract and a detailed project proposal outlining the main focus of the project, the timeline for the interviews and submission of photos (if any), and the printing process.

Interviews
(Due to COVID-19, all interviews will be conducted via Zoom, Skype or by phone)

Once we’ve agreed on the details, we’re ready to start! We will take our time recording your story, asking follow-up questions to make sure we’ve captured the moments you and your loved ones care about, and gathering photos. Then, we will write your story and send it to you for editing. We will make the necessary adjustments and get ready to print.

Printing

We will work with the printer to transform your life story into a beautiful book that will be treasured for generations to come.
